Karin Andrews

Karin Andrews is passionate about and inspired by old homes and gardens, by breathtaking water views, rolling pastoral landscapes, towering trees and ancient boxwood. She has successfully represented sellers and purchasers of iconic historic, waterfront and equestrian properties throughout the Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula, Central Virginia and Shenandoah Valley.

With a background as an architectural illustrator, former horsewoman, muralist, accomplished writer, photographer and one who lives on a large inland farm with a family home on the Chesapeake Bay, at Wicomico Church, she understands and appreciates the needs of a wide variety of sellers and purchasers. Karin is married to Essex County native, William Forrest Andrews, who is her partner in life and in Real Estate. They reside in Upper Essex County, at Oakland Farm and have two grown daughters, ages 32 and 20 and one sweet grandson.

Karin is an advocate for Historic Preservation and Land Conservation. She serves on the Boards of The Essex County Museum, The Tappahannock Artists Guild and The Tappahannock Rotary Club. A true people person, connector and “go to” in the Region, she represents her clients in a manner that is unequaled in her industry niche.

Personal Interests and Hobbies

My grandfather was a landscape architect and my grandmother an avid gardener. I share their love of plants, particularly Heirloom, English and Old Garden Roses. My formal Garden includes over 120 Roses of various types. It provides armloads of exquisitely perfumed Roses from May to December and is a delight.
Flower Arranging is a hobby. I am often called upon to make exquisite arrangements to be auctioned at non-profit fundraisers and special galas.
Entertaining family and friends is another interest as well as Gourmet Cooking. We throw fabulous parties in Essex County.
Decorative arts, fine art and collecting antiques are another interest that I excel in. My decorating style and dialect is distinctly Southern.
